In Jordan, an ecopark recently started with ecotourism. Its name is Sharhabil bin Hassneh EcoPark (short SHE Park) and it is located in the Jordan Valley close to Pella and Umm Qais / Gadara.
The area is still mainly untouched by tourists and so nature and locals are authentic. Also bedouins live in and around the park and are open to visitors.
With this project, the ecopark shall grow and also locals shall get jobs – especially in this area it is very important because the unemployment rate is high.
The ecopark is overlooked by the ecopeace organization Friends of the Earth Middle East.
