From Disney World: A Most Magical Vacation
Sponsored by Disney Vacation Club
If there is one thing that is synonymous with Orlando, it is a certain mouse domain known worldwide as Walt Disney World. More than 10 million people pack this park every year to enjoy the rides and meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and dozens of other assorted characters from their favorite movies. What is there not to love about a Disney vacation?
When Walt Disney set about more than 30 years ago to build a new theme park in Orlando, his first concept was that of the Magic Kingdom, which hearkens back to the days when Main Street was the place to be in a city. Here you can ride the teacups and Dumbo, take the nostalgia train ride, or enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean (note: for some odd reason, they do not keep Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom stationed at this ride!). There is plenty of fun for the non-rider here as wellmake sure to stop at Judge's Tent in Toontown for a picture with Mickey.
The second park added to Disney World was Epcot. Opened on October 1, 1982, it was a vision of Walts dream, a community where people could live, work, and play. Epcot is truly something special, offering a combination of science and technology and bringing the world to your door with an array of scientific displays to fascinate people of all ages. After your scientific explorations, you can cross over a bridge and take a tour of the world in one dayno passports required. The countries represented in Epcot include Japan, Morocco, Canada, England, and Mexico, just to name a few.
The third park that opened at Disney was MGM Studios, which celebrates Hollywood and the movies. It has a wonderful combination of rides and shows for the whole family, so if you don't enjoy rides, you will find plenty here to keep you entertained. And the major attraction for thrill fans is the Tower of Terror, a must for any ride fanatic.
