The Camel is a great spot. It's got a British pub feel but without the football-hooligan, union jack-wearing nonsense you get in similar bars in Spain and Greece. It actually has a good cross section of clientele from Italy, America, and Scandinavia, as well as lots of Brits and Irish. A lot of the dive workers hang out here, so it's a brilliant place to find out prices of dive trips and swap dive-site stories and tips. They show all the British football they can, and this is often a better range than at home. Try the Sakkara beer. It comes in pint bottles for around LE 200. If you get pally with some of the local expats, they may give you Sharm resident tickets, which get you beer half-price – a bargain!! The staff is great here. Don't forget to throw monkey nuts at each other (apparently, it's tradition).
