Since we were there just last night, June 11, I can describe a warm evening after a day of music festivals and celebrations. We dressed up in beads and baubles, hit the outdoor café, and ordered mango margaritas made with real mango, and a large hookah pipe filled with smooth aromatic tobacco. Three floors including a den-type cove in the basement, and all the floors were packed with people from all over the world since the summer semester at UW is kicking off. Capital Square was abuzz with all kinds of music in clubs and brimming bars. The food is exotic and yummy! Madison is a very special cosmopolitan city in the middle of the heartland. This town is a party/salon-type of environment rich with intellectual discussions. There were women in spaghetti-strapped dresses and violet wigs and people from 21- to 81-years-old! Casbah is just off Capital Square.
