Margaritaville

The nightclub was definitely a tourist attraction, however an indoor/outdoor muti-level club. There were also many locals who seemed to have come to party as well. The music was good, and they had a second room upstairs that had an all-you-can-drink special going. I forget the price but I didn't make it far enough to see how things were there.

Downstairs they had a plank that walked out into the sea, I seen many people arrive by boat which was interesting. You can see across the way and the lights of the city. There is also a huge trampoline-jumping thing outside, I assume it's used in the daytime.

While down on the outside lower level, an employee walked down and asked if we smelt the Mary Jane. Unfortunately Mary Jane was already smoked. Hospitable employees.

Prices were a bit expensive for drinks, however this is worthwhile place to check out.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville

He gestures to buy me a drink from the other side of the bar. I laugh and gesture a "no thanks." Later that night, I find myself laughin' and talkin' in his company.

Jimmy's in MoBay is a fun, safe, and packed place to be when you want to go out in MoBay. The music covers '80s, hip-hop, reggae, and soca. The crowd is mixed, with locals and tourists, and in my opinion, it's worth dancing with locals and getting to know them since they truly capture Jamaican spirit.

The lighting is great and two bars hosted on two different levels cater to those who want to dance and drink and those who prefer sitting and listening to some live music. I found myself dancing away and then wandering upstairs to take a break to get to know my dance partner(s)! The place overlooks the water, so when you feel hot, it's good to get away from the crowd and watch the waves and cool off.

There is a cover, about $10, to get in, and it depends if you pay. I was there almost every night and the staff became like family for the Easter break.

It's safe and worth checking out along Gloucester Avenue, especially if you like dancing with some fine people! They have a local band up until 8pm playing pan and local reggae tunes, and then it's the DJs place after that!

I liked this place because not only did it have wicked dance tunes and great space, but it had two floors for different atmospheres, and above all, the staff is exceptionally considerate and respectable.

I met people from 17 to 45, so if you're (travelling alone especially or with a group) looking for place to people watch, dance, lounge, and drink, this place is it in MoBay--no doubt.

Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville

Well I should start this off with saying I am a Parrot Head (extream Jimmy Buffet fan) So a trip to Margaritaville in Jamaica was a must do. I arrived Jimmy Buffet-style drunk and on a sailboat (snorkeling trip). We tied up to the dock and stumbled into the temple of the laid-back. The place is amazing, with a 200-foot water slide from the top deck into the bay. Just past the slide are some water trampolines, and that is a blast. Inside is a full-blown bar, complete with Sharkhead DJ booth. We were here during the day, but I hear it gets pretty wild at night. Of course, you can buy your Jimmy Buffet shirts, glasses, towels, and underwear in the shop, at the back of the bar. If you like cool bars or if you are a parrothead, this is a must-see.

Hailed as the place to party on Montego Bay’s "Hip Strip," Gloucester Avenue, Margaritaville is perfect for anyone looking for exciting entertainment, a lively atmosphere, and delicious food. Our driver said this was the spot that had good American music and lots of tourists, so we paid our J$12.

You can drink juice and rum all night for free. NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT! Now after about five or eight drinks, you'll be ready to do every Jamaican dance that they call out in the club and boy do they have a million different dances. I could only keep up with the stuff that I had seen in a music video, but the locals do know how to party. Lil’ Jon and the Eastside Boyz were in the house so they kicked off the dance contest. And the local ladies gave you a show that's too HOT 4 TV! Make this a stop on your trip to Monetgo Bay and you'll have fun!
