The Centerpoint Group has been at its present location (next to the Greyhound bus depot) for years, but has recently fallen into new artistic direction.
Kevin Harris, graduate of a local high school and NYU, is the new Artistic Director. He has taken over the theatre's management and is taking it in a whole new direction. He wants to press the issues and provide fresh entertainment.
Students get the best deal with $5 tickets the prices go up from there.
Speaking of students, Harris has a bit of a youth cult following. Seems he's a bit of a legend around the high schools. For this reason, he's challenged to entertain all types of patrons from long time seniors to broke kids. He's doing a great job, you will laugh. Kevin has recently been featured in local weekly entertainment circulars. On the cover of one he was wearing a 'Method acting Sucks' t-shirt.
Past patrons will be happy to learn that they will no longer need to go next door for a restroom, Harris has remodeled the theatre's restrooms so that they are usable now. They are also creatively decorated in disco club/prom kitch. Fun and funny. The building was home to the bus depot's cafeteria years ago, which only adds to its off-the-wallness.
