The Camarilla is an international social organisation sanctioned by White Wolf, Inc. which revolves around the gothic-horror genre set in White Wolf's World of Darkness. It is world-renowned for continuous Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP) game that spans 10 countries on five continents. It is run by the Camarilla Australia, a non-profit, incorporated organisation. Due to mature themes experienced in role-playing, the Camarilla Australia will not accept persons under the age of 18 as members.
I have played the Camarilla game for two years in Melbourne and Dandenong, but this was my first trip to play the game anywhere else in the world.
All you really need to do to join in is to have a character and you act out that character throughout the game! If you don't have a character, it's easy enough to speak to one of the people running the game (known as the ST, the Story Teller) and get one. If you are in Adelaide, don't mind pretending to be a vampire and enjoy acting, then you should at least check it out!
Camarilla has come to Adelaide. We started early February 2003 and so far everything is going well. Currently there is just as a single venue, Under Favour of Night, a Camarilla Vampire game. The Camarilla welcomes anyone so if you are interested, don't be afraid to contact us, even if you have never role-played before.
Check out their website for session times.
