The Hideaway is a hotel with a restaurant and bar. I have never stayed at the Hideaway, but I often went there at night with my friends to have a few drinks.
The atmosphere at the Hideaway is relaxed, as are most places in San Pedro. You can sit at the bar and talk to the bartender (who just happens to be our friend Rudy -- divemaster at Bottom Time Dive Shop), you can watch whatever is on TV (they have cable), or you can borrow dominoes or "pig" if you feel like playing a game. Rudy makes good "Coco-Loco," a favorite drink of Belizeans, made with liquid from coconuts (not milk).
Patrons of the Hideaway bar are usually hotel guests or locals, since as the name suggests, the Hideaway is not centrally located.
