A great old theater, not one of the Deco movie palaces, but evocative of Saturday afternoons in the fifties, The Rialto shows independent and art films that don't make it to the multiplex without a massive Oscar campaign. Fork over your ticket price at the little ticket window out front, stop at the concession stand for real buttered popcorn, Jordan almonds, or even a beer, then settle into a comfy seat (you'll have your choice in this spacious old place). At midnight on weekends, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" brings in the colorful and costumed. Take in a matinee or an evening show and work in a stop at Lilly's or The Third Place.
