Description
Performing on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, Actors Co-op is the first Christian-based professional theatre company in the United States that operates under a contract with Actors Equity Association, the professional union for stage actors. This performing group began in 1987 when a dozen veteran actors wanted to form a company that would provide spiritual, personal and professional support. The church grounds have two theaters: the Crossley Theatre and the Crossley Terrace Theatre. Do dedication to Christ and good theater mesh well? In this case, the answer is yes. The Actors Co-op was awarded the Hollywood Arts Council's Charlie Award of Excellence in Theatre Arts and the 1996 Margaret Harford Award for Sustained Achievement from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle.
