Zoetropolis

Zoetropolis is a gutted rowhouse turned hip theatre with a weekly rotation of current independent and foreign films. Aside from being one of the only places in the area to see this genre of film, the Zoe's ambiance is well-executed for moviegoers, with a variety of seating arrangements including oversized sofas and cafe tables in the back, and for those who prefer the tried-and-true, at least a dozen rows of traditional theatre seating in the front. The screen is medium-sized, but because the theatre is small, every seat in the house is a good one.

The theatre is also used for live music performances and has pre-showtime in-house coffee bar which serves gourmet treats to enjoy during the film. To describe in words the ambiance of the theatre does do a bit of injustice, as it could seem a little too kitschy. But the designers and owners of the space did a remarkable job, which radiates a sense of love and appreciation for independent film.

Films are shown nightly at 7pm and 930pm with the exception of Mondays. Call ahead to find out the weekly performance and film showing: (717) 392-2795.
