5th Avenue

If you're looking for a hot, happening place to hang out with friends or scope out the opposite (or same) sex, head to 5th Avenue, near the corner of 5th and Washington. This two-story bar/nightclub is one of the most popular in town.

If shooting a few games of pool is your plan, you can choose from a number of tables downstairs, just steps away from the bar or complete with table service for those who are really into their game. Sign up for a table at the desk when you enter 5th, but beware, they charge by the amount of time you play.

If you're in the mood for live music and dancing, head upstairs where the real action is. Live bands grace the stage Tuesday through Saturday, playing rock, R&B, alternative, groove, and jam to name a few. There are a few pool tables up here too, but the dance floor and the huge bar backed by an amazing aquarium are the main attractions. Drinks aren't cheap, so remember to bring the plastic.

If you've worked up an appetite and can't wait for the late-night, fast-food run, 5th does serve appetizers, pizzas, and sandwiches.

Remember, the bar closes at 2am, so get in all the fun you can.
