Out of the mainstream, the Cock & Bull offers an amazing array of imported beers, both draft and bottle.
It specializes in higher-end imports, but there is beer for every taste. Just don't ask for Bud Light; they don't offer regular old beers.
Located in an old barn-like building, the easiest directions are to take Fruitville or Bee Ridge almost to the highway and then head south or north respectively. It's a bit hard to spot, but if you like good beers, it's worth a visit.
The decor is almost nonexistent, and service is bar-only. But the beer garden in the back, variety of drafts, and simple "different than anything else in Sarasota" approach are relaxing.
