It may be an overpriced tourist gimmick, but it was still great fun. To protect you from the cold, you are dressed in a stylish silver poncho, huge gloves, and boots, all worn over your own outdoor clothes. Then you enter the room made entirely from ice. The bar is ice, the floor is ice, the tables are ice, and your drink is served in a cup made of ice that slowly melts as you drink. One free drink is included with the admission price, and they have a good selection of vodka cocktails. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time, and all pretensions have to be left behind when you are dressed in a silver poncho. We only stayed for one drink, as we hadn't booked in advance, and felt strangely underdressed when we left without our silver attire.

This is chillin' to the extreme. Cool surroundings and warm (as in friendly) atmosphere. A must for every tourist visiting Stockholm. Family-friendly, with children-sized coats. Part of the fun of the freeze is assisting the other amazed (or frozen) guests take photos. Remember, this is real ice, and it's around -4 C, and coats and some shoes are supplied. It's a great way to end a day or start a night out. The Ice Bar opens at 4pm and closes around 10pm.

The world famous ABSOLUT ICEBAR STOCKHOLM, located in Nordic Sea Hotel, opened its doors on June 1, 2002.
50 persons at a time can be present in the bar and the maximum stay is 30 minutes. The standard attire for guests is a silver cape and woolen gloves, which keeps you comfortably warm when combined with the special alcohol drink sipped from an ice glass. Crystal-clear ice is the building material for the ceiling, the walls, the bar counter and decorative details. The atmosphere is international and warm, despite the fact that the temperature is below freezing.

Entrance includs first drink from 140 SEK (non alcoholic is 95 SEK), refill is 85 SEK. For those who stay in Nordic Sea Hotel the price is 125 SEK, for others 140 SEK but everybody is welcome.
