"Irish Kevin's" is a fun bar... a loud bar... but a fun bar.

Located right in the center of Duval St., this is a rowdy Irish bar that is known for it's live music and audience participation.

There is always a band, or sometimes just a guy and his guitar... but either way, they always get the crowd going. Even if you are standing on the sidewalk in front of the bar, the singer will almost always yell to you to come in and have a drink. Most of the people that come into this bar, leave staggering. It's safe to say that this is a place where people come to get drunk!

The music is great, but it's pretty loud. I lost my voice from yelling to my friends, who were only standing 3 inches away from me. You have to yell even if you're just passing by the front of the bar!

However, most people that are in this bar don't care how loud the music is, because most of them are pretty loaded. That being said, I would recommend Irish Kevin's for it's hard partying atmosphere. I just wish they would turn down the volume a bit.

Irish Kevin's brings in a mixed age group. All come here for one purpose, and that is to have a good time. This place is dueling piano's gone guitar. It's a fun place. It's a loud place. And it always has a crowd. We were there in mid-August. On my previous trips, this is a place that I usually do not go. But in mid-August, it was the best place to be. I definitely would go back.

Irish Kevin’s is an open air bar with really great live music. We were reminded of some of the bars in New Orleans. It is right in the middle of all the partying on Duval Street. Every night we walked by it was always packed with people clustering outside the door singing songs. We finally made it into the bar on a Monday night. A man with nothing but a guitar put on one of the most entertaining shows we had experienced. He started doing a cluster of rock’s influential love songs. It was amusing because he sped up the beat so it was fit the pace of the bar and everyone could sing (or scream) along to the lyrics. He would sing just enough of the song for us to belt out a few lines and then he’s switch to something else. He sang complete songs as well from all different bands like Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, John Cougar, Boston, Poison, U2 and much more. Later he brought some girls at the bar up on stage and had them dance. He took requests and could play anything that was suggested. We were having so much fun we stayed for about two hours and the guy played the entire time. In the back of the bar they have t-shirts, sweat shirts and other thing for sale. I had to buy myself a tank top to remind myself of the incredible time we had there.

To us this seemed a beer drinking bar so we all had Yuenling (beer from PA). Key West is the first place many of us tried Yuengling and we were sold. You definitly have to try it if you are a beer drinker.
