Description
This restaurant is one of Heidelberg's traditional student pubs, occupying a house built in 1703, and run by the Spengel family for over 160 years. As befitting a historical establishment, the place is adorned with memorabilia, pictures, paintings, drinking horns, wood carvings, and so on, all from days gone by, which make for great conversation over dinner and drinks. The menu features basic German meals, with plenty of schnitzel, sausage and steak. The selection of beer is limited, but reliable, and there are a dozen or so wines available by the glass.
