Description
Just off Harborne High Street, this is one of the best of the suburb's 13 pubs. Places don't come much more traditional than this - it has a snug, smoke-filled public bar frequented by reasonably friendly regulars, a larger lounge bar bustling with good humour, décor throughout is comfortably old-fashioned and it serves an impressive array of extremely well-kept real ales. Lunchtime food is available, although the portions can be laughably small - the only criticism. A jovial quiz is held every Tuesday, worth visiting just for the quizmaster's comical mispronunciation of famous people's names. Other entertainments on an ad hoc basis.
