The Jewellery Quarter is a much-loved area of the city, full of charm, antiquities and some exceedingly good eating and drinking spots. The Warstone Stores is found in a new and vibrant arts' venture, yet serves old-fashioned food with style and grace at genuinely reasonable prices. You can get a roast for around £3, pie and mash for £2.50 or vegetable pasties at £1.35 apiece. It gets very busy at lunchtimes, but the waitress service is highly efficient.
