Motel Quality Service at a Hotel

Your hotel has awful service. I arrived at 1am on the 9th. I had to wait almost 10 minutes after arriving in valent for the bellhop. After he arrived, I went to your check in desk where there were three employees working the desk, one customer being helped by an employee, and myself and another hotel guest being ignored by the other two employees working the desk. Someone emerged from a door from behind the registration desk and I asked him if the other two employees worked here as well. That startled the man who turned out to be a manager. He ordered the other two employees to help myself and the other guests.

On Friday, when I returned to my room, the key did not work. I went down and asked a security guard what to do. He told me to go back upstairs and use a house phone to call security. I went back up and called security. When the security guard arrived and saw me sitting on the floor in front of my door, he rolled his eyes. Nice! He tried my key and it didn't work. He put in different door keys from a ring he had and finally got one to work. Then, he tried my key again and it worked.
On Saturday evening as I entered the hotel from valet, one of the bus boys decided to say,'Hello young lady' when there was no reason for interaction. It was creepy.

Then on Sunday, my room service never arrived between 10:15 and 10:30 despite having been ordered at 5 am. I could only complain about the person who took the order (Gladys) and then waste another 45 minutes for the order to be sent up which made me late for my appointment at another hotel.

I will never stay at the Stratosphere again!

I have seen Viva Las Vegas almost 10 times since 1997, it's an excellent family entertainment for a good price. It's always entertaining and still funny, I'll be there again in a week. It's a must-see show in Vegas.

Stratosphere Tower

If your city has a tower, and you really need someone to climb it and enjoy panoramic vistas from the top, please let me know. I am totally a sucker for panoramic vistas. So when I heard about the Stratosphere Hotel and tower, I knew I would have to give it a look.

Located at the northern end of the strip and measuring 1149 feet, the Stratosphere holds the distinction of being the tallest man-made structure in America west of the Mississippi. The first floor is a casino (no surprise), with a hotel above. The building is capped by an observation deck and restaurant with great views of the city. Getting to the observation deck will cost you - $10.95 per adult, plus more if you want to try one of the rides at the top.

Because as if the view itself wasn't enough to draw you, there are also three thrill rides on the very top of the building. My husband and I (thrill seekers that we are) decided to brave Big Shot. Basically, they strapped us to seats on either side of a 160 ft tower that sits on top of the Stratosphere, then shot us up into the air at 45 mph. I screamed my head off the whole way up. Not just some "woohoo, this is so fun" kind of scream. More like an "oh my god, at least I've had a good life" kind of scream - couldn't help it. We then dropped about half that distance, and then kind of bounced gently up and down a couple of times. After the initial acceleration, the ride was pretty peaceful - and the views were gorgeous.

In addition to the charge for the elevator to the observation deck, the lines for tickets can get pretty long. This is where a little planning ahead can help. If you have a reservation for the restaurant a the top, you get to skip the regular line and get to the observation deck for free. Once at the top, you can buy tickets for any rides you want from the gift shop in the observation deck.

We did this, and had lunch in the restaurant afterwards. We had sandwiches and salad, which were a little overpriced, but tasted pretty good. The view is why you come here - not only does the restaurant have 360 degrees of windows, but every table has a great view, because the restaurant is slowly revolving. Very cool. I think this would be best for dinner, looking over the lights of the strip after dark.

This is a fantastic variety show and great price for the entertainment. Comedy, dance, singing, magic, etc. Definitely worth the price and the best variety show in Vegas. GO see it!

It was the ultimate variety show. I enjoyed every act. They were very funny. It was a great afternoon show. I left happy, and it wasn't the pina colada, because it was virgin.
