This place is a great place for a first date. It is silly and pitchers of beer are available. The downstairs has cabaret style seating and can be VERY smokey. Upstairs is very dark and I worry about what is living on those floors. Nevertheless, it is a blast and a fun place to see second run movies and some very popular TV shows. The Vic, when not playing movies is a concert hall. Aside from Metro, I think the Vic is one of the best places to see a band.

Remember the social feeling you had when you saw Rocky Horror Picture Show? Imagine better movies, less throwing of food and water, and you can drink and smoke while you're watching the film. Action films are best viewed here in the company of friends. As the night wears on and the liquor takes a more profound effect, you will likely join other participants in this theater in interacting with whatever is going on, on-screen. This is my favorite spot, bar-none, in Chicago.
