A fairly recent addition to the city, the Varsity takes its name from its proximity to both universities. Extremely well designed, it has wooden floors and a spiral staircase leading to the upper floor, while the wide windows and raised ceilings make for an airy atmosphere. As it also has the city's community college as a neighbour, the clientele tend to fall into the 20-30 age range. A popular venue with a friendly ambience, it also has a good choice of dishes on the menu. A pint of beer or a glass of wine will cost around £1.50-£2.50.
