Description
If you decide to head down to the Twelfth House, you can not only feast on the hearty traditional English fare but also discover what the stars have in store for you. The astrology theme runs through everything from the deco to the entertainment. On most evenings and some afternoons, there are two tarot card readers on hand to answer your pressing questions and help with all your life's dilemmas. Readings cost between £5-£20. You can also have a computer birth chart made up for £4 and if the owner, who is also an astrologer, is around, she will answer any questions you may have.
The food is also fairly divine and the menu is packed with items such as fish with fat chips and mushy peas and rhubarb custard, which are almost impossible to find in the polenta land that is Notting Hill. The ice creams and sorbets are all home-made and in the afternoons, you can have a cream tea in the cafe downstairs. The restaurant is closed on Sunday nights though the cafe bar is open till 10.30pm.
