Tigh Neachtain

This is a century old family run business right at the heart of the medieval quarter of Galway. The pub is housed in the building which used to be the townhouse of famous politician and animal rights activist Richard Martin, known as Humanity Dick, who lived there in the last century. The bar itself holds a long and varied history, particularly as one of the main homes of traditional Irish music in the West.
Tigh Neachtain's is a traditional irish pub. Grab a guiness and a chair and relax. Some say it's the "best guiness in Galway".. I might agree!
Here, you'll find all sorts of people from musicians to poets to tourists. Everyone was very friendly and I visited this pub everyday of my visit to galway!
I probably spelled the name wrong, and I can't even pronounce it. I just referred to it as "the blue pub" since it's painted blue outside. You can't miss it!
