Description
Although teahouses are common enough in Beijing, without overt signs or advertising the typical visitor may find it frustrating to locate one. Wu Yu Tai is a classic example of the 'hidden' tea shop.
This shop has a wood trim and a gateway façade reminiscent of the phalanx at the Emperor's Summer Palace guard. Private rooms in the back of the main building offer privacy.
Like most tea houses, loose-leaf green tea and jasmine tea dominate the menu. The green tea comes in glasses instead of cups. Western-style black tea is also available.
