'Thay Pagoda is the place where the monk To Dao Hanh, the patron saint of water puppets, became a Buddhist and, eventually, a Buddha. Many make the pilgrimage to this religious site during this festival. In the monks honor, participants are treated to endless water-puppet performances. Most present short stories about rural life.
