Terminal Tower

The Terminal Tower is rightfully called the “grande dame” of Cleveland skyscrapers, and is the most significant landmark of downtown Cleveland. If there’s a skyline shot of Cleveland, you will see it. For almost 40 years after it was built, it was the tallest building outside of New York City. Today, Terminal Tower remains the second tallest building in Cleveland and Ohio, Key Tower is the first. Unfortunately, the observation deck on the 42nd floor is indefinitely closed, but I’ve been up there and it gives an amazing aerial view of downtown Cleveland.

Terminal Tower

The terminal tower is a 708 foot, 52-story building that is the landmark of the city of Cleveland. Any time you see a nationally televised baseball game, they will show the skyline and the Terminal Tower is the main building, although Key center at 27 Public Sqaure is 63 stories and the Terminal Tower is now the 2nd tallest in Cleveland.

This is now known as Tower City. The rapid comes in on the lower level and there are shops and restaurants and a movie theater in the complex. The observation deck is on the 42nd floor and gives a spectacular view of the city.
