This particular neighborhood offers a fine selection of arts and cultural venues, and includes such distinguished places as the Anthropology and History Museum and the Modern Arts Museum. Dance performances can be seen on some of the lake islands; and there are painting workshops that offer instruction in numerous techniques, which are open to the whole family. And of course, there is theatre: both open-air and indoor performances are presented.
The Rosario Castellanos Theatre presents all sorts of plays performed by both famous and unknown theatre groups, actors and actresses; and both classical and modern plays are staged here. Tickets cost 80 pesos (USD 8), and discounts are available for students and teachers who present the appropriate identification.
