There are rush tickets available for only $8. Unless the concerts are sold out, it is possible to grab seats in this beautiful auditorium to catch some great classical music concerts. Rush tickets are available for Tuesday night, Thursday night and Friday afternoon concerts. For Tuesday and Thursday night concerts, the concert start at 8 pm. Rush ticket sales begin at 5 pm. Usually a line of about 20 people or so start forming at 4:30 pm or so. Unless it is a very popular artist in town, you can usually get tickets even if you show up a little bit after 5 pm. For friday afternoon performances which are at 130 pm, the rush tickets go on sale at 10 am. For this you can usually show up as late as 10:30 am.
What I usually do is get the rush tickets with a friend [you can only get one ticket per person] then go out for a nice meal around Symphony Hall. This is truly a great bargain.
