Situated half-way up Festungsberg, this place offers magnificent views over the old town of Salzburg. Stiegl is popular with locals young and old: the younger generation tend to meet in the upper beer garden for a drink, a snack and a chat, while hungry customers head to the lower garden, a lovely, leafy place for a romantic dinner for two. The lower part also contains a fine restaurant which offers exquisite Austrian cuisine and a 'Sound of Music Show'.
