You would be forgiven for thinking that all manner of country music is widely available in Nashville. Not being fans of a great deal of country pop we were delighted to come across The Station Inn. The only venue to feature purely bluegrass music we spent a wonderful evening and were in the company of no less than Townes Van Zandt's widow. Do not leave Nashville without dropping in, you will be made most welcome and will no doubt see a treat of a performance from an authentic performer. Check out their website www.stationinn.com and plan your trip around a specific band or just head their on a Sunday for the Jam.

The Station Inn looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside, but on the inside, you will get the best bluegrass performances! This is a place that has been around for 30 years and a visit here is worth your time! The best times to go are on Tuesday nights to see the Sidemen and when Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time are there. There’s live music, they take requests, and it's just one huge music jam session. There is a cover charge, but it’s worth every penny!
