This lively sports bar/pool hall is famous for REAL LIVE pin-setters instead of automatic re-set and ball return! The rules include "Don't bowl if you see legs." The best secret is that you can tip the pin-setters by sticking money into one of the finger holes in the ball and roll it down. You will see your scores improve greatly. There are only four lanes, and with the novelty of the pin-setters and having a bowling alley in what is a favorite local tap anyway, the lanes are occupied much of the time. Southport Lanes & Billiards has been in business as a tavern/bowling alley/pool hall since 1922. There is a lengthy beer list and in the summer you may be lucky to catch a pear cider - delicious. There is also great jukebox and a nice-sized menu for eats.
