I lived in the sea of bedsits on Sallymount Road and the two pubs at the end of our street, Smyths and Humphreys, were fabulous! On Friday nights, the atmosphere is electric - very noisy and full of different types of people. The service in both pubs in fantastic and my husband was happy with the quality of his Guinness. Both were also a good spot for mid-week sport, and Humphreys has a good beer garden out the back. How I miss these two gems! Keep in mind, though, these are very good local pubs... would I have travelled across the city to visit? Occasionally, but not frequently.
