For $15 or so, you get a tour of the cabin; dinner, served outside on paper plates (usually corn and chicken and some sort of bread); a tour of the author's musuem; a trip to Lookout Point, which has a great view of the mountains; a behind-the-scenes tour of the whole place; and your ticket to the show that evening. You can, if you want, just buy tickets to the show.
The show is the story Shepherd of the Hills. I really didn't care for this show, or the whole setup. The theater is outside, and the show is done under the stars--so dress warm!
The tours and all that stuff are really not worth it, only if you're a fan of the book or the movie. I didn't have a clue about either of them until I went. The show is long, and not very well acted, but they do burn a cabin each night on stage! And at intermission, you are invited down on stage for a hoedown. But I didn't think the actors were very good, nor did I enjoy this show or the whole setup! But again, if you know the movie, and are sick of musical revue country-type shows, you might want to give it a try one evening.
