Description
This modern theatre offers an excellent variety of drama. Opened in 1976 by Sir Alec Guinness, it consists of a Main House, which has a capacity of over 500, plus the Salberg Studio, which can accommodate almost 150. Productions are either own-produced or co-produced by the likes of the English Shakespeare Company and the Bath Theatre Royal. Many Playhouse productions are reviewed nationally. The Main House season runs from September to June or July, with an average of ten productions a year. Tickets cost between £9 and £14. The Salberg Christmas productions often incorporate a cabaret-style set and are very popular, so book early.
Opening hours shown are for the box office.
