Rain

Rain is one of the hardest spots to get into in Vegas, as we experienced. It consists of 3 levels--the dance floor is located on the 1st level and is surrounded by water. It gets crowded quickly, so get a spot fast. Tables are situated on the 2nd level and are priced according to the size of the group. VIP is located on the third floor, which includes skyboxes, cabanas, and other private sitting areas. The prices are from $750-$1000 a night, which doesn't include bottle service--and that can run no lower than $350. Rain boasts an amazing light, water and pyrotechnics system. Just above the dance floor, giant fireballs shoot out randomly and drive the club crazy. Rain is a must go while in Vegas; you will see beautiful people, hear crowd-pumping music, and have the time of your life.

Rain

The nightclub RAIN is in the Palms Hotel and hasn’t been open as long as some of the other clubs. Since MTV filmed a lot of the Real World Las Vegas here, it has become one of the IN spots to hit for dance-floor action.

Be sure to check the schedule because as well as a nightclub and DJ lineup, Rain also hosts shows (P.Diddy, Britney Spears, etc.)

I loved the set up of Rain; according to its website, it's 28,000 square feet, with a huge dance floor, which is always packed. You enter through a long, mirrored tunnel, which I liked, and inside, along with the big dance floor, there are smaller areas and podiums set along moats of water, with the rain being gigantic sheets of water that fall from ceiling to ground. At intervals through the night, these walls of water become huge walls of fire and giant fireballs (14 feet) shoot from the sky. It gets hot just with the crowds, so with the fire too, expect to sweat.

It’s a great place to come in a group and party the night away. I personally wasn’t keen on the music. It was a mix of very mild house, hip-hop, and R&B, but this particular night was a Saturday, and I’ve heard that Thursdays ("drenched" at Rain) have a better DJ lineup for more hardcore tastes.

Rain is open from 10pm-5am. Normally, I don’t recommend going early to a club, but the night we went to Rain, we had just gone early to the casino and saw the line of people waiting before the doors even opened. We joined the line quickly, and from the doors' opening, it took us an hour to get in. By the time we were entering, the queue was massive and was at least a two-hour wait.

The cover charge was $25, but you can pay a more for VIP entry and a lot more for the special skyboxes, cabanas, and water booths (don’t ask--I didn’t pay the $1,000 asking price, so I can’t tell you much about them). Drinks are also expensive, but not any more than any other club here.

This club is located off the strip, so be prepared to take a cab there and to wait in line for one on the way back. It's definitely eye-catching in the sense that it has fire that rotates on and off the dance floor. The shape is circular, and since I went during Halloween, it was super packed! It has a nice court yard that accesses the pool.

I recommend you check what type of music is playing for that night. It was all techno, and I wasn't a huge fan of that! There are two floors, and you can enjoy yourself on either; I think the top floor overlooking the club is VIP, which is not much fun since you're separated from all of us down here!

Anyway, it's a good club if you want to see some fireballs on the dance floor. I think the name Rain comes from the water that surrounds the dance floor. Get your dancing shoes on and enjoy yourself--bust a move!

This is absolutely the best club we went to while in Las Vegas, and we went to a lot of them. The place looked hot with all the lights, different colors, and they even had flames shooting out above. It has several areas to dance to with the main floor being in the center. There are also tables you can get but I imagine they're pretty expensive.

Fortunately, we didn't have to pay a cover to get in, because somehow we met some MTV people and we got in free, all eight of us! If you do have to wait to get in, get there early cause you'll be waiting at least an hour to get in.

The place was packed of course being the most popular place to go but it was still fun. They had great music for people of all tastes to dance to. The age group looked to be about from early twenties to mid thirties.

Rain is the hottest nightspot in town (as of the date of this article). It was actually pretty cool, and I'm not a club-hopper at all (ask my friends).

Okay, I balked at the $20 cover, but that's the norm in Vegas. If you're lucky and you're female, some of the places don't charge a cover for women, but not so for Rain.

Drinks are outrageously priced, but that's the norm, too. I think they ran around $8 or so per drink.

The cool thing about this club is that when it rains, it pours . . . That is, the club takes on all forms of weather INSIDE. At various intervals, the club would get cool and misty like a light drizzle, then it would actually SNOW, and then flames of fire would shoot out from the mechanisms above and warm the place up again.

They had music I could actually dance to and the crowd was a good mix of all ages, all ethnicities, and all genders (of which hopefully, there are only two!)

Rain has several mini-levels with a VIP level at the very top, which I was not privy to :o(

Be prepared for an hour or more wait to get into this hot club (unless you want to bribe the bouncer $10--on top of your cover).
