Klub Proxima is located right next to the main student dormitories in Warsaw and therefore normally attracts a young crowd, I've been there numerous times over the years. The music interchanges between 80's and rock on most nights but it's funk, disco and rnb on Fridays, if there is a group of you visiting the city then it's almost definitely worth going there as there is a large open dance floor with a stage for those particularly confident in their skills!
Beer is cheap there (around 5zl - 1.25 (pounds, I've lost my sign!)) but it's normally pretty bad, queueing for a beer can take a while, then you are served in plastic cups and they go through so many barrels that it seems to taste funny. There is an upper level where you can normally find a seat, there is quite a selection of toilets so queues aren't that long (except for the girl's loo but that goes without saying in most clubs)
Proxima normally plays host to fairly decent concerts, tickets are usually around 80zl (20 quid), there is normally a decent rock, punk, metal, reggae or alternative concert there by a well known band at least a few times a week. Lee Scratch Perry seems to play more often than anyone else for some reason.
All in all it's a pretty good dance club and with the student dorms in such close proximity it's definitely a good place to meet members of the opposite sex! A lot of visitors miss this club out because it's a bit out of the center but it's really not that far and if there's a couple sharing a taxi, it won't cost you a lot. Alternatively you could walk in a straight line through the park (Pole Mokotowskie) opposite to the metro station of the same name, this however might be difficult to negotiate after a few golden ones.
You may have to pay an entrance fee of 5 or 10zl on weekends.
