Musee Royaux des Beaux Arts de Belgique

We toured many art museums in Europe and this one was unique in its lighthearted approach to art. There were several mechanical art displays which were fascinating and unlike any we had seen elsewhere. One exhibit had a metal man sitting in the middle of a large floor with a large bell swinging very slowly closer and closer to his head. After about 30 minutes, the bell would hit his head and make a very loud gong. People would come from all over the museum to see what was happening, but would have to wait a half hour to find out. Other than this section, the museum had exhibits by Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, Matisse, Miro, Bracque, Picasso, Chagall, Dali and several Flemish painters. In one area there were earphones and a video which would explain the meanings of the paintings if you cared to listen

This is a Modern Art Museum. The day we were there it was not busy at all. They have quite a few Renee' Magritte's. His stuff is rather strange but I really liked it. Also a lot of Bosch, Bruegel, Chagall and even a Keith Haring.
The Building is also very nice.
