Description
This is the temporary casino opened by MGM Grand, the Las Vegas-based casino chain that won one of the licenses for a permanent casino to open in 2004 in Detroit. On the outskirts of downtown, it is located in a former Internal Revenue Service building—a touch of great irony for anyone who succeeds at the 2,400 slot machines and 80 gaming tables. The casino features 75,000 square feet of floor space and Art Deco motifs, plus two themed restaurants, a huge buffet and three bars at which to drown your sorrows. A nine-deck parking structure is attached. All in all, it's not bad for temporary digs.
