Description
At first glance, the Man on the Moon looks like a rather bland pub with not too much going for it except for a very friendly atmosphere. Look closer though, and you'll discover that the upstairs of the building is home to a 20 year old theatre with one of the most eclectic programmes you'll ever see. From Twelfth Night to comedies involving budgerigars, the ever-changing listings attract a different group of Time-Out readers every week. Performances take place twice every evening on Tuesdays to Sundays, and occasionally you can catch a Monday night comedy show - although age restrictions can apply to some shows.
You wouldn't expect a fringe theatre in Chelsea, but The Man in the Moon does qualify as an arty venue that emphasises British work, new writing, a range of classic revivals and controversial plays.
Admission: adults £8-10, concs £6-8.
