Description
The Lescar probably has the least prepossessing exterior of any pub in Sheffield, but don't be fooled; there are treasures within. The taproom and lounge (although neither win any prizes for décor) both serve a good pint (the options include Stones, Timothy Taylor and London Pride). Food is available from 5pm to 7pm during the week and is excellent value. Lasagne, cajun chicken, or a mixed grill all appear on the menu regularly. But what makes the Lescar so special is what goes on in the backroom - real live entertainment such as a live band on Tuesday nights and a Jazz Club on Wednesdays. Most importantly, the Last Laugh Comedy Club on Thursdays has a national reputation for innovative comedy. This is Sheffield's own Edinburgh Fringe: don't miss it!
