Kumharas

Description

This restaurant opened a little over two years ago, and in this short time, it has become the focal point for the island's alternative culture. The clientele is very mixed, although you will find, above all, young followers of the hippy cause.

The decor is oriental in style, with the goddess Shiva presiding over everything. As well as being a bar and restaurant, they also organise markets. The menu is interesting - basically consisting of Indian-type food, as well as some vegetarian dishes.

A couple of slight criticisms: the food is fairly expensive considering they are not generous portions and they are not dishes that require a lot of preparation. Also, the wine list is not very exciting.

They only open in summer, and the only way to get there is by car or taxi. However, it has to be said that the scenery is worth the trip.
