Last year, Arabian Nights gave all the employees at my company two free tickets, and I work at a large company. Not a good sign, I think, but the tickets ARE free. So, we drive down to International Drive and found the place. Surprisingly, there were a lot of people. Everyone was being crowded into a line outside the building (to pick-up or buy tickets). Then we were crowded into the waiting area inside the building - but not before being forced to pose for a group picture.
When we finally reach our bleachers (yes, not real seats, hardwood bleachers), we were seated and given menus. There were three dishes to choose from: meat and potatoes, some other meat and potatoes, and a vegetarian option. They also serve free beer and wine (aaahh, the highlight of the event – free wine). The food was acceptable, somewhere between yummy and poisoned.
The dinner show -- a horse-riding show with a loose Aladdin-style story thrown in -- was well-done but boring. Plus, I found the shoddy dialogue and acting tacky; I would have rather the actors just rode the horses and did not talk.
Typically, the tickets for Arabian Nights are $40 to $50 per adult and $20 to $30 per child. There are discount coupons (for $10 to $15 per person) on their website.
Overall, I think I paid the right price for my tickets. I think I would have felt cheated if I had spent any more. It was not a bad experience, but I can find better things to do with my time and money. I bet you can too.
