Description: My wife and two of my three grown daughters left the show laughing. Horses are the main entertainment, and if you are looking for anything deeper, go to the circus. Sure, the circus is never in town, and you figure you need to eat, but as my dad used to say, "You can’t go wrong with prime rib." But then, he’s never been to Kissimmee. Sure, we left the show laughing, laughing at how bad the whole thing was.
Our first mistake was sitting through the 3-hour timeshare presentation to qualify for Orange Dollars. Funny, it was supposed to be only an hour-long visit, but I guess we asked too many questions. We did get $10 tickets to the Arabian Nights for our efforts, which we figured was a pretty good deal. From the other reviews, it looks like no one pays full-price, without timeshare presentations.
Normally, going in to a place with low expectations will result in some sort of happy result, but besides some great horse riding, we were pretty disappointed. Perhaps it was just our mental comparison to the glitz and glamour of Disney. Okay, maybe it was just the screechy voices and that the plot that made no sense at all. Or maybe it was the dated references to Arabs, women, and the role of horses in modern society. Too deep? Okay, maybe it was the 3-day-old dinner rolls. You would think that a dinner theater churning out one or two shows every day of the week to a full house could manage some fresh-baked dinner rolls, but apparently not.
Our first hint should have been the cheap wine served in plastic tumblers, all you can drink. Then, before the dinner arrives, they turn out the lights. That way, you might not notice the worst prime rib ever prepared. Tough, tasteless, and gnarly, the only thing that made them palatable was the instant mashed potatoes. Our recommendation: ask for the chicken.
At the end, we actually cheered when the Evil Something-Something rode out on the Black Stallion and put the whammy on the Princess. Maybe it was the cheap wine? Who knows? For a grand finale, they release the extra horses and let them run loose in the arena. The horses love it. Free at last! They romp and roll and do horse-stuff after being cooped up all day. We know how they felt, as we headed to the parking lot.
