Stay Away from This Hotel

We were not warned about the renovation going on on the 3rd floor (we stayed at 4th). I'm talking about carpenters hammering at 7:30 in the morning it is not acceptable. A restaurant downstairs serves dinner - not good either. The food tasted like refrigerator food heated up then served. There's a sauna downstairs, next to the hotel elevator. The reception hall is a big joke too, nobody on attendance and security is very low. No safety box in the room either. Stay away!

Deutsche Eiche

Deutsche Eiche is a hotel, restaurant, and gay sauna. A staff member informed us that we could have our meal in the sauna if we don’t mind dining in a towel.

We paid for the sauna fee of around €14 each for a locker. There are four floors to the sauna facility: the bottom level has rooms and maze/dark areas; the street level has the dining area, reception, and lockers; one level up has the showers, steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi; and the top level is open-air for lounging. It’s a nicely done place with radiant floor heating on the bottom level and a set of small water fountains cast with blue light that you see and hear through a small viewing grid through the floor. What made the experience was a staff member named Sandro, who engaged us with friendly, lively interaction when we checked in and also made our visit to the dining area a welcomed one.
