Hale Ahe Ahe Lounge at Manele Bay Hotel

The beach is a wonderful place to relax and get a great tan. The water was a lot saltier than I'm used to, but it was the perfect temperature, and great after a long hot day. The beaches are normally crowded, but I didn't really mind, because I was able to relax and enjoy, regardless of how many people were there. You don't need to buy a beach mat, because you can usually find them around the beaches at night, after most people have left. Many people just leave them there, because they don't want to take them home, so just pick a stray one up, and leave it at your beach when you're done with it. Someone will want it! Being on the beach every day was a wonderful treat for me, because my life back at home is fairly stressful. It was great to forget all my worries, and just relax and enjoy the sun, sand and water.

The Hale Ahe Ahe Lounge, or "House of Gentle Breezes," is an open-air lounge with a stunning ocean-view. Enjoy cocktails, festive tropical drinks, and excellent pupus in the warm and friendly ambience. Nightly entertainment goes from 5:30 to 9:30pm, except Sundays and Mondays. It is open from 5 to 11pm. We stopped for a cocktail before dinner and enjoyed a local two-person Hawaiian duo. Their music was soft and melodic and went with the gentle breezes. Seating was comfortable on couches with coffee tables between them. Some armchairs were also available. The lounge has two billiard tables and a full-service bar area. A nice selection of tropical drinks was available.
