The Grand Theater is hard to miss if you ever drive through the historic downtown district of Cartersville. Everyone in the town can point you in the right direction. On the outside, it has a classic ‘20s look and feel to it, probably because it hasn't changed much since it was built in 1929. The inside of the theater is a little more modern and has evolved with the times. Inside, there are around 200+ seats on two levels. The theater is air-conditioned, and the sound and lighting are great. There two sets of restrooms downstairs in the lobby, as well as a small snack bar during intermission. No food is allowed in the theater.
In the summertime, the theater has two summer camps: one for younger children and one for older children. My sister and I both participated in them two years in a row. Granted, I didn’t take much from it, because I can’t sing or act that well, but I still enjoyed the two-week camps. Even if I did have to play some homosexual-looking character in Jason and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!
