A popular trend in Istanbul of late is the combination bookstore-café. While many proprietors separate the book section from the café, Charlotte McPherson's Greenhouse Café sees both sections fully integrated. You can sit surrounded by all manner of books (including an excellent range of Turkish cookbooks), flip through the latest magazines or peruse the bookshelves. Weather permitting, the outdoor terrace is a pleasant place to sip coffee. There is also an underused seminar room in the basement.
