The Jinx

The Jinx is a landmark live music venue for the rock/punk music scene of the East Coast. In its past it was known as The Velvet Elvis then late as The Velvet Lounge (Elvis' estate wanted their share). In its current configuration, the Jinx still lives up to its rock and roll heritage featuring live music on Fridays and Saturdays usually of the rockabilly, honky-tonk or punk genre. Monday is open mic night, Tuesday is hip hop night, Wednesday is Rock and Roll Bingo, Thursday is DJ Dance Party. The crowd and the staff of the Jinx are my people, the heavily-tattooed, black t-shirt and jeans crowd. The bar patrons live up to the Savannah reputation of a hard drinking town. Pabst Blue Ribbon tallboys and Wild Turkey shots are the house special.
Recently the Jinx has started to open at 5pm for happy hour actually, allowing daylight into this traditional after dark venue. Wi-Fi access has been added as well as bar access to X-box. Evey one is welcome, but be prepared to rock. Say howdy to Tony, the mountain-man behind the bar.
