This was my first time at the House of Blues and I had a blast. I loved the venue. A high ceiling along with second floor balcony to view the bands and people was the perfect solution to get away from crazed music fans. The place was packed to see the Get Up Kids and sadly, but surely that was the only show of theirs I would see since they recently split up. I don't remember the exact price of the drinks, but it was reasonable, I'm sure since I was and still am a poor College student. Rhett Miller opened up as a solo artist with his acoustic guitar and didn't disappoint as did the Hot Rod Circuit. Those guys rocked and played a lot of catchy tunes. As for The Get Up Kids their new material surprised the crowd and was softer than their previous stuff. Cell phones waving in the air rather than lighters set the mood for the lovely jams. This occasion would have gone perfect if only my date were a female. Ha ha I went with my best friend.
