Yates's is a chain of bars with locations all over England. The one in Leicester Square has a big bar with pretty big seating areas, with local DJ's that supposedly pull in a pretty big young crowd in the evenings. The décor inside is quite modern but nothing too fancy or extraordinary. Yates's has a reputation of having rude bouncers(in the evenings), and many Londoners dismiss it as being too touristy and without any soul. But frankly, it's not as bad in the afternoon; it's pretty decent place to meet up with friends for a pint along with Yates's famous chili burgers before you move on to somewhere else. It's nice to sit outside on the Leicester Square-facing patio, if you can find an empty table. I would stay away from Yates's in the evenings though.
