FUBAR

Now, it's true that Stirling is not known for its stellar nightlife. However, Fubar is known about town for its Thursday night drink specials, the packed dance floor, and a great place if you are in the mood to pull a random.
I have to apologise if my review is a bit hazy. I went to Stirling Uni back in Autumn of 2001, and pretty much everytime I've gone to Fubar has seen me at pub previous to entry.
Thursday nights are by far the best night to go. During the school year, this club is packed with Uni students too anxious to wait for the weekend. There is a cover charge, although it is usually under 10 pounds. And on Thursdays you can find specials such as all bottle drinks 2 for 1. I don't remember Friday and Saturday having any specials and since drink prices can be pretty high we stayed away.
The club opens around 10pm and goes until about 3am. There is a coat room (for a small fee) which is much needed during the winter. A dance floor downstairs plays cheesy top 40 hits and a larger dance floor upstairs plays harder trance and dance music.
There is a front room (or was it back room?) that had couches for you to lounge on (or make out on) and some nights they do themes. Such as you get a number when you walk in and other people can write comments on a message board for your number.
If you happen to be in town for the weekend and want to dance it's a great place to be. It's close to the train station and pretty much right across from Willy Wallace backpackers.
